Keurig Revo Again

Fixing Things

Aaaaaannnnddd were back… Exact same issue that caused all the mess before, the actuating handle is slipping. The coffee pod is no longer securely held and hot water goes everywhere inside of the machine. Everywhere except through the coffee pod and into my waiting mug that is. I have decided that thread lock is the answer this time around. That and not stripping out the pressure regulator while trying to tighten two screws.

Four screws and 2 disconnected hoses later (3rd hose will be disconnected while pulling the assembly out).

5mm Hex and 10mm wrench to take the nut off

It looked like there was green thread lock on the screw previously. A steel wire brush made quick work of getting the remains off of the threads. I put the screw back into place before applying the blue thread lock. I repeated the cleaning and thread locking on the other bolt and nut. The thread lock needed 24 hours to cure so I was careful not to turn the nuts while reassembling the machine. I wasn’t too worried about them coming undone as they were fairly tight after I put them back on.

Some forceps made it easy to connect the coffee hose. I connected the two water hoses by hand along with their retaining clips. I screwed in the 4 screws that held the actuating piece in place, but stopped there. I didn’t want to fully assemble the thing to find out I still couldn’t get coffee out of it.

Twenty four hours later I had my fancy coffee! At this point I realized that by not tightening the nuts with the handle at the correct angle prevented it from looking like it was closing correctly. Doesn’t matter, had coffee.
